I am headed off to Nicaragua in mid-April and would like to start my stay with a week at a Spanish school in Granada or possibly Leon.

I am having trouble finding any reviews of schools, other than the ones posted on the individual schools' websites.

In the Moon Handbook it mentions that a core group of teachers has left the 1-on-1 Tutoring School and started their own school, but I can't seem to find any other information about that on the web.

Any help or recommendations would be great!

cj -- here's a pretty recent roundup i did about nica spanish schools:

you may also want to poke around the other recommendations in this forum. mariposa spanish school, in particular, seems like a wonderful option, located in the hills just south of managua: http://www.spanishschoolnica.com/

in granada, you can also check with the new school out of maverick's reading lounge. xalteva always get high marks as well.
