Trying to get my bearings, are Playa Iguana and Playa Colorado the same beach??

Is there any public beach access or is it strictly for property owners and boat access?

Not that I'm aware of.  Google "San Juan del Sur map" and you'll come up with several realtors' maps that show the different beaches.  Print and go - happy surfing.

Looks like a lot of people have viewed this post.

As an update, Playa Colorado is the the South end of the Playa Iguana Developement/Beach.

So yes, at least for surfers, Iguana and Colorado are the same.

I believe it's called Colorado because the wave actually breaks at the mouth of the Rio Colorado.

I am writing to confirm that yes, Iguana Resort is at Colorado, and indeed they call it Colorado because of the wave in front of the river.
