Josh,
Any leads on gallery quality artist and how to find them in their homes. I know Solentiname but some of the majors in the galleries in Managua. I have plenty of market art and a huge collection of self taught folk art if anyone is interested but I am looking to meet some artist on our next visit. Most likely Dec/Jan for a month?

Inocentequintero - So you're looking to meet an artist in Managua because you already are familiar with Solentiname? You ought to start in the galleries themselves. There are at least eight decent art galleries in Managua, from Códice to Los Tres Mundos to Añil to others. See the Managua chap of Moon Handbooks on around page 36.
Any one of those galleries can help connect you to the artists themselves, many of whom live in the area. And of course Galería Solentiname is an outreach of a Solentiname family selling some very pretty primitivist stuff. It's a nice way to spend part of an afternoon.
Hope that answers your question. If you discover some other interesting galleries, please let us know!
