Volcanoes during the Rainy Season?
«
on:

I’ll be in Nicaragua in July (12-22). I was hoping to tick off a volcano or two. Are Concepción, Momotombo, Telica, or San Cristóbal feasible climbs during the rainy season??
I have been looking for some information on routes, seasons, etc, but have not been able to find much except basic descriptions.
Any advice or recommended reading is welcome.
Thanks.

Ryan, it depends on how rainy it is in July (always varies) and how muddy the access roads and trails are. You'll probably have to wing it depending on weather -- go down, talk to some tour operators and see what's feasible. I recommend Quetzal Trekkers and/or Va Pues Tours in León. Google those companies, email their staff, and ask specific questions about your trip.
