Mechapa is a small fishing village 13 km north of the NIC 12 turnoff to Cosiguina and Potosi. It's not on most maps, but Redwood Beach Resort has been here for a little over 2 1/2 years.  If you are looking for something not just "off the beaten path" but "off the path all together", check this area out. Factually, WE (the owners) have been her for a little over 2 1/2 years, but the hotel itself was built in 2000-2001 but never opened until we bought it.  Just to be clear.

Stacy here at RBR in Mechapa.
